Jubilarians ring the bell at Alkmaar cheese market

On Friday, May 10, the Alkmaar cheese market opened with a bell ringing provided by the jubilee colleagues of CONO Kaasmakers. A great moment to put colleagues in the limelight. This year we count as many as 12 jubilees!

Prior to the visit to the cheese market, Alderman Anjo van de Ven received the jubilees at the Town Hall. Every colleague contributes in his or her own way to both the production process and the marketing of cheese. The Alkmaar cheese market and the presence of CONO and Beemster cheese are therefore a natural extension of this commitment. It is a special occasion to highlight the dedication of colleagues. This year the organization counts no fewer than 12 jubilees, with even 40- and 45-years of service being celebrated. Thus long-term employment is the norm rather than the exception at CONO Kaasmakers.

At the Alkmaar cheese market, CONO Cheese Makers always has a prominent presence, where Beemster cheese on the Waagplein is on full display. This is done in cooperation with cheese producer FrieslandCampina Zijerveld. Together we ensure the presence of the Gouda cheeses, giving visitors to the cheese market a chance to admire the cheeses, buy them and discover the origin of the product. This helps preserve the centuries-old tradition of the cheese market.
