Klaver Kaas and CONO Kaasmakers are extending their long-standing cooperation. On 30 September last, they established the new company 'Kaas van Noord-Holland'. With 'North Holland Cheese', they offer the specialty cheese market a wide range of quality herb cheeses and goat's cheese.
Cheese from North Holland
The North-Holland companies Klaver Kaas and CONO Kaasmakers have already been working together for a long time on milk and the production of specialty cheeses. They are strengthening this cooperation by setting up the company 'Cheese from North Holland'. This mainly concerns North Holland herb cheeses from cow's milk (from Klaver and CONO dairy farmers) and goat's cheese exclusively from Klaver's goat's milk.
Added value
Wim Betten, managing director of CONO Cheesemakers: "With this new partnership and our 'North Holland Cheese' organisation, we are strengthening our position in the market. We see opportunities to offer a wider range of authentic North Holland speciality cheeses, made in Klaver's cheese factory, to our current customers but also to new customers. In concrete terms, this means that the specialty cheeses will be available for the Dutch and foreign markets."
Cheese factory
The 'North Holland Cheese' range is produced in the existing Klaver cheese factory in Winkel. And, in view of further market and product developments, soon also in the new Klaver cheese factory to be built along the A7, Agriport, in the municipality of Hollands Kroon. The new cheese factory is scheduled to be ready for production in 2022.
