CONO Kaasmakers congratulates Evert Fokker (Korver Kaas, Bodegraven) and Wim Betten (former director CONO Kaasmakers, Westbeemster) on joining the North Holland Cheese Guild of Honor!

On August 25, 2023, Alderman Anjo van de Ven intronized four new ambassadors for North Holland Cheese. These ambassadors join the North Holland Cheese Guild of Honor. Before the intronization, they jointly opened the Alkmaar cheese market by ringing the bell and demonstrated their competence with a trial at the market.

The new members are Wim Betten (former general manager CONO Kaasmakers, Westbeemster), Ruud Eisinga (Eisinga Kaas, Oosterwolde), Evert Fokker (Korver Kaas, Bodegraven) and Wytse Jansma (Poiesz Supermarkten B.V., Sneek). They are admitted to the Honorary Guild because of their contributions to North Holland Cheese.

In 1990, the Foundation Honorary Guild of North Holland Cheese was established in Alkmaar. The foundation aims to promote craftsmanship, quality and distinction of North Holland cheese. Participants in the foundation are the cheese producers CONO Kaasmakers and FrieslandCampina-Zijerveld and the municipality of Alkmaar. Every year, four people, who have made a meritorious contribution to North Holland cheese, are invited to join this guild. Many prominent figures from the cheese trade and industry have already been inducted.
